Union with Christ, the Holy Spirit, and Heaven -- A Conference
What is union with Christ? How is a person united to Christ? How does union with Christ impact the Christain life? If Jesus Christ is in heaven, how can his church be united to him while on earth? What difference does union with Christ make for me in my daily life that is filled with suffering and hardship?
The brief course entitled, Union with Christ, the Holy Spirit, and Heaven, will look at biblical texts from the Apostle Paul and the author of Hebrews that explain the situation of the church as a wilderness people who are united to Christ by the Spirit and, as such, are heirs of God in heaven, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God (Col. 3:1-2; Hebrews 8:1-2; Ro. 8:17; Psalm 73:25-26). Special attention will be given to the practical value of being united to a crucified and ascended Savior by the power of the Holy Spirit, who works union with Christ in the church through the gospel, and begins to bring the church to the heavenly mountain of worship and Sabbath Rest in Christ Jesus (Hebrews 4:9-11; 12:22-24).
